I was in the mood for a bit of dubstep this week so thats what you get. Im noticing that when a genre gets popular, a lot more songs get made and it gets harder to sift though the amount of crap to find the good tracks. With that in mind this mix leans on a few older tracks that have stood the test of time. Oh and I mixed in that Jay-Z track because I friggin love it.

Few days late with this episode but Im still on a weekly schedule. This week we have a bit of house, a bit of electro (or complextro as the kids are calling it nowadays) a bit of bassline, a bit of grime and a bit of dubstep. To be honest, as a DJ, I am really trying to not get caught in the genre trap of only playing one or two genres, if its good music then its good music.

Hello and welcome to the first episode of Music Without Turntables. This used to exist as an audio podcast and after a lengthy break, I have decided to try and bring it back as a weekly video podcast. This may be a great success or a terrible failure, lets just say we are still in beta stage right now.

This first episode contains a bit of everything. Really digging the new track from Rihanna’s upcoming album featuring production by Calvin Harris. Hopefully pop artists will start to look to someone other than David Guetta for beats. I just got back from a vacation from Mexico and a track that was really popular at the local disco was Sak Noel’s Loca People. Its very catchy and is starting to gain some traction on mainstream radio too. I finished the set by going a bit underground with a pair of tracks by Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

Let me know what you think of the first episode.
